Bereavement, grief and loss: Tender Conversations (One Croydon Training)

Thursday 14 March 2024
10:30 to 12:00

Have you ever avoided a difficult conversation because you thought 'This is going to be tough and I don’t know what to say?’ Or had the feeling that someone avoided a conversation with you because you were emotional?

These conversations are easy to put off because they might be scary, or we feel we can't find the words.

Based on the work of author and palliative care doctor Katherine Mannix, this experiential training session will re-frame difficult conversations as tender conversations and help develop key skills in how we care for ourselves and others. These skills help us build sustaining and meaningful connections with friends, family, and others in our communities, both professionally and personally.’

Join us for this interactive session raising awareness and knowledge about how to have sensitive conversations around grief and loss, how to support those we come in contact with, and to know what local bereavement support there is.

This training is part of the One Croydon Training programme, which is for Croydon's frontline workforce (statutory, health, and voluntary sector) colleagues, but this session will be of particular interest to those supporting food banks, the elderly, refugees, the unemployed, or as a volunteer or befriender.
