Introduction to Alcohol & Drug Awareness (One Croydon Training)

Raise your knowledge of alcohol and drugs, and gain confidence to start conversations with clients with alcohol and drug-related needs.

This course is suitable for front-line workers who come into contact with clients who may have alcohol and drug issues. It is also open to workers new to this area of work and is suitable for people who may need to develop their knowledge of alcohol and drugs.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to

  • Identify alcohol and drug use and reasons why people use these substances
  • Distinguish between categories of alcohol and drug misuse and levels of risk
  • List alcohol and drug harms, and the short and long-term health impact.
  • Signpost to local services

*Participants will receive a certificate and a link to resources from the trainer after this training.

This session is part of the 'One Croydon Training Programme' aimed at our frontline workforce (statutory, health, and voluntary sectors), colleagues working in Foodbanks, Social Prescribers, Helpline Staff, Befrienders, and Social Workers.
