Examining some of the challenges and safeguarding issues affecting young people at risk of serious youth and gang violence.

Objectives

Explore local prevalence rates of serious youth violence and the profile of victims and perpetrators by age, gender, and ethnicity

Identify which young people are at high risk of gang activity, the signs/indicators of criminal exploitation, and the role of females in gangs 

Examine underlying causes of youth violence and the impact of trauma, adverse life experiences, and peer/online influence on decisions around organised criminal activity

Explore the cycle of trauma, victimisation, and violence in families and how to break intergenerational patterns

Explore local services and safeguarding procedures, multi-agency approaches, and interventions to engage with young people affected by gang and youth violence
