This session is intended for health and social care professionals who work with young people and children at risk of suicide.

The training applies a holistic perspective to understanding the prevalence, experiences, and challenges associated with young people affected by suicidality and death by suicide.
Objectives

Identify young people who are risk of suicide, self-harm and self-injury, including the links between these behaviours and the misuse of drugs and alcohol

influence of gender, culture, sexuality, age, and other social factors

Identify specific strategies to reduce risks of suicide self-injury for adults and young people

Understand some of the cultural, religious, and social factors which contribute to the high rate of suicide among Asian women

Understand the experiences of children and young people who self-harm and are at risk of suicide
-
Identify safeguarding issues and strategies for interagency management of suicide risks and undertaking risk assessments
The session will be led by Marcia Rice.
