Holocaust Memorial Day 2015

Tuesday 27 January 2015

Croydon Council and Faiths Together in Croydon will be commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day next year on the afternoon of Tuesday 27th January 2015, exact timings will be confirmed nearer the time.

The theme for the event is ‘Keeping the Memory Alive’ and the event will follow the broad format of previous years, with a candle lighting and opportunity to sign the book of remembrance, as well as performances from schools and key note speeches from people with a connection to the Holocaust and other subsequent genocides.

Please get in touch with Tania Robinson, Community Partnership Officer at Croydon Council, if you know anyone who would like to speak at the event or have any ideas for speakers. As next year marks 70 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and 20 years since the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia, we are particularly keen for Jewish and Bosnian speakers.
