VE Day Celebrations in Croydon

Croydon Airport became RAF Croydon from 1939 to 1946 and played a prominent role during WW2. It was attacked during the Battle of Britain on 15 August 1940 and suffered the highest casualties of the raids; six military personnel were killed there, and 162 people were killed in the factories around the airport.
