Tuesday 09 June 2015
09:30 to 13:00
This one-day training, offered by Croydon Council, is for any Practitioner working with Children, Young People and their families who may require Early Help support.
The session explores Croydon’s new Early Help Assessment (CAF), particularly within the context of Croydon’s Early Help Pathways, OFSTED requirements and Working Together (2013) statutory guidance.
The training explores theory relating to assessing families and offers tools, tips and guidance on building relationships, asking difficult questions and breaking down barriers to undertaking Early Help Assessments.
By the end of the session you will be able:
- To demonstrate a confident approach to completing Early Help Assessments (CAF) “what to write and how to write it”
- To identify a range of tools, techniques, theories and guidance to aid the assessment process
- To describe some of the barriers to completing Early Help assessments and ways to overcome them.
- To demonstrate an understanding of the new scoring system and how to effectively negotiate this with families.
