New Funding Sources: An Introduction for Trustees

Monday 29 June 2015
16:00 to 18:00

The scarcity of grant funding is forcing charities to look for alternative sources of finance and become more innovative in their search for funds.

This seminar, in partnership with the Clothworkers' Company, will focus on two new funding sources: crowdfunding and social investment.

It will provide an introduction from the perspective of a charity trustee and answer questions such as:

•What is it?
•How are charities using it?
•What are the main challenges?
•Is it relevant for my charity?

The event will be chaired by Iona Joy, Head of the charities team at NPC and trustee of London Wildlife Trust.

Speakers include:

•Melanie Mills, Social Sector Engagement Director, Big Society Capital
•Tricia Hartley, Chief Executive, Campaign for Learning
•Jessica Ratty, Brand Communications Manager, Crowdfunder

As well as hearing from this expert panel, there will be plenty of opportunity for Q&A and discussion. Time to talk to fellow trustees is equally important and we provide drinks following the seminar so that conversations can continue.
