CAPT Masterclasses: FREE Housing Training

The aim of this course is to equip participants with the practical knowledge required to identify where a tenant might successfully delay homelessness, but, if faced with eviction, the ability to identify whether the local authority might have a duty to assist.

· Understanding the notice and deadlines.
· Early intervention
· The claim form for possession
· Possible defences

How to make a homelessness application
· When must the Council take an application from me
· The five basic tests that apply
· How should the Council help
· What can I do if the Council will not help
The course is not designed for experienced housing advisers, but rather those with little or no previous knowledge or those who wish to refresh basic existing knowledge.
This is the first course. The second course will be run on Tuesday 7th July 2015 from 10am to 1pm
Places will be limited and available to all staff and volunteers of non-profit advice providing organisations based in Croydon and providing services to Croydon residents only. This course is not open to organisations who do not hold charitable status
Cost: CAPT is covering the costs of this event so it will be free to participants.
