SORP 2015 Training

Thursday 29 October 2015
09:30 to 13:45

Attention : CEO’s, Treasurers, Trustees, Finance Staff

Are you ready?

Have you started reporting on the new SORP? In July 2014, the Charity Commission published key changes to the Charities SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) affecting the way charities report on their activities.

Charities with 31 December year-ends will be the first to use the new framework when preparing their accounts and reports for the 31 December 2015. For charities with 31 March year-end, the 31 March 2016 is also rapidly approaching.

Transition to a new framework will inevitably present some challenges as accounting policies are reviewed, new ones applied and necessary adjustments are made to the opening balance from the transition date. Understanding these challenges, and the issues where difficulties may arise, is vital for a ‘pain-free’ transition to the new framework.

This training will provide practical advice on implementing the new SORP and will identify the steps charities need to take when preparing accounts.
