Prevent aims to stop people becoming terrorists or actively supporting violent extremism. By the end of the workshop you will know what Prevent and Channel are and will know what to do if you have concerns about changes in someone’s personality or behaviour. The session:

·         Outlines the background or the Prevent Strategy

·         Examine how Prevent is an extension of safeguarding and dispelling some of the myths built up around it

·         Increase awareness of channel: the process where people who have identified as being at risk of moving into violent extremism are voluntarily engaged in an appropriate intervention

·         What steps to take if you have concerns about changes to someone’s personality/behaviour
