Raising Aspirations among young People with a Disability Seminar

The council and Croydon Care Solutions are working with members of the Croydon Disability Confident working group to organise this seminar to explore current challenges, and develop good practice, in “Raising Aspirations” among young disabled people, their parents and carers, and schools and colleges in order to access to education, skills training and employment support.
There will be presentations from key speakers, practical workshop sessions and good-practice case studies that will provide delegates with the practical tools they need to assist young people with disabilities to access work-related education, training and careers advice in order to gain employment and lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

The seminar is aimed at parents, carers, schools, colleges, employers and organisations that provide local support services. It will provide an opportunity for participants to collectively discuss the practical actions that we can take to raise the aspirations of young people with a disability and agree how best to work in a collaborative way to improve access to training and employment opportunities.
