Croydon Conversation

Tuesday 19 April 2016
17:30 to 19:00

Approximately 30 people attended the first Croydon Conversation at Croydon University Hospital last year, taking the opportunity to talk to the Trust’s most senior doctor, nurse and managers about the issues that mattered to them. These included the use of electronic patient records, audiology and dental treatment.
Come along and talk to the executive team and have your questions answered.  John Goulston says:
“I want our community to feel comfortable talking to me and other Trust staff, knowing that if they want to raise an issue about our services, then we are keen to listen to them. We provide hospital and community care to the people of Croydon – we are their service, we are accountable to them and we want to know how they feel about us.”

One family wanted to pass on their personal thanks to the medical team for care and attention they had been given. Other attendees shared their personal experiences and had suggestions for how we could improve, including taking the time to explain clinical decisions with patients more clearly. John added:

“The Croydon Conversation is an invaluable event to us and, I hope, to our community. By listening to our patients and their relatives we can continue to strive to do better, and keep raising our standards of care across the Trust.”

No appointment necessary - just come along to meet the executive team.

The ‘Croydon Conversation’ was launched by the Trust last year. Modelled along the lines of the parliamentary surgeries of MPs, the idea is to make it easier for people in our community to raise issues directly with the most senior members of staff at the Trust.
