This Stones of Croydon tour will explore the theme of Nature vs Culture. Using various photocopies of a 1985 ordnance map of South Norwood to literally draw upon, new mark making and rubbings will pull out questions and new discoveries about our surroundings. Moving from the city to a farm in Dartmoor, Lippard stumbled upon a row of 4,000 year old stones, feeling an inexplicable connection: What does it mean to place a stone in an urban space?
