Handling Bullying
Monday 22 August 2016
Solace International is holding a series of interactive seminars and workshops for the Croydon community over the coming school holidays. The aim of the programmes is to equip participants with the tools for effectively supporting children and young people in their charge throughout the new academic year commencing September. The information and knowledge gained will prove valuable for subsequent academic years to come. Parents, guardians and professionals engaged in the learning environment (such as social workers, teachers, YOT officials, etc.) will find the programmes to be of particular relevance.
This workshop: Bullying is on the increase, bullies are getting smarter and bullies are no longer fitting the old stereotypes (of big, dumb and grumpy nasties). Worse still, bullies are nearer home than we think…sometimes they’re even at home with us. So what can we really do about it? How should I support my child or any child I know that’s being bullied? And what if my child or a child in my charge is the bully? This programme does not promise to be Socrates or Solomon (Sulaiman) but it does help you understand bullying better as well as equip you with better skills and knowledge for dealing powerfully with bullying. Remember, no child should live in fear of other children and every child has a right to learn in peace, safety and comfort. This programme will help the dream of a conducive learning environment come alive for all parents and children.
You must book in advance.
