Domestic Abuse Event

Wednesday 18 January 2017
18:30 to 20:00

Statistics show that Croydon has a very high volume of domestic abuse incidents.

The Council and the police have dedicated significant resources to tackling this type of crime:

  • Are they working?
  • What action are communities taking to confront such offences and support their victims?
  • Are new trends emerging?
  • Can domestic violence be prevented?
  • What can be done to minimise the risk and damage to its victims?

Come along to this event and hear what the current trends are and what action is being taken by the police, council and voluntary sector, and to discuss where the gaps are.

It will start at 6.30pm. Refreshments will be available from 6pm.

Presentations will set out the current situation in Croydon and action being taken by the police and the council to tackle domestic abuse. These will be followed by a question time, in which you are warmly invited to participate and contribute your ideas and experience. The evening will end by setting challenges emerging from discussions for relevant groups and organisations.
