Accredited Sight Awareness Course

An accredited (OCDN) one-day Sight Awareness Course, delivered by Kent Association for the Blind.

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about sight impairments and how to assist people safely. You will have the opportunity to try out daily activities using simulation spectacles and blindfolds, such as pouring a drink, guiding a person safely onto a chair, through a door and up and down steps. You will learn about communication and language. There is an opportunity to look at signage, accessible formats, braille and a variety of resources available to assist people to access their environment safely.

After this training, you will have a better understanding of the eye conditions and know how to make simple changes that allow a person to access their surroundings safely.

This course is accredited at either level 2 and 3, through OCN. It costs £100.00 per person, this includes handouts and an OCN certificate, (once homework has been submitted and passed).
