“So U Think I’m CraZy?”

Sunday 02 December 2018

Who would have thought ……this play would still be wowing audiences nationally, 5 years on, as the themes of mental health are so powerfully portrayed in this play.

SUTIC is written and directed by Ekanem Hines, a carer who co-founded the community theatre group known as Know My Mind. Everyone involved in this product

Using Rap, lyrical poetry, mime, dance and music, this play takes the audience on a breath taking journey from the streets of London to a secure unit in a psychiatric hospital.

This play challenges this myth and exposes the very thin line which we all tiptoe through.

After the play, there will be an interactive question and answer panel session led by Eugene Ellis, Director, African and Asian Therapy Network, addressing the stigma of mental health and the challenges of accessing services and care. Expert panellists include Dr Aggrey Burke, Dr Kirpal Sahota, Marcia Rigg and Risq Animasaun.

Doors open 5.00pm - show commences 7.30pm.

(Know My Mind is a London based community theatre group raising awareness of mental health issues from the perspective of the service user and the care. It also looks at the impact of mental health in the family and the difficulty of accessing resources in this time of austerity together with the acute slashing of services)
