EHCP - Education Health and Care Needs Assessment is a legal document for children aged 0-25, setting out a child’s special education needs and how their needs will be met.
Unlike the previous system of statements, EHCPs should also include a child’s health and social care needs.
Not every child with special educational needs will have a plan.
However, if their needs are beyond those normally provided for in a mainstream school, you can request an EHCP.
