Title | Fit for Partnership Briefing Session: Croydon's Black Community Reimagining Mental Health |
---|---|
Description | The Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF) is a new way of working which brings together Black communities, Black service users and their carers with SLaM staff. Together we will re-imagine mental health services to achieve anti-racism and equity for Black citizens. Data shows that diverse communities have poorer Access, Experience and Outcomes (AEO) in mental health services – this is true of SLaM and national data. In this first iteration of PCREF, we are focusing on improving AEO for Black African, Black Caribbean and Black Other (including Mixed) communities. This is because SLaM data shows that these groups are most disadvantaged in our care. How do I get involved? We have a two-part event coming up in your Borough and we warmly invite you to join us on this journey. Part 1: Fit for Partnership briefing session This event is for Black communities in Croydon. Date: Tuesday 19 January 2021 Part 2: Croydon PCREF borough event This event is with staff, Black community members, Black service users and their carers. You will be invited to join Part 2 after attending Part 1 Fit for Partnership briefing session. Please do make a note of when this is in your diary: Date: Monday 8 February 2021
Each of our four boroughs are also hosting these events (Lambeth, Southwark, Croydon and Lewisham). This work will culminate in a event to bring all the views of Black communities, Black service users and their carers with SLaM staff together at our Four Borough PCREF event. Please do make a note of when this is in your diary: Date: 4 February 2021 |
