Working with Women and Young Girls affected by Gangs and County Lines

Friday 12 November 2021
10:00 to 13:00

This training will explore Abianda's unique approach to working with gang-affected girls and young women, and those exploited through county lines activity. It will give an overview of the principles on which they base our approach, including Solution Focus Practice and Participation. The training will explore and challenge the stereotypes and myths around young women, gangs and county lines, and facilitate a critical discussion of the term “gang”.

Practically, the training will consider the risk young women face and the barriers there are to accessing support. They will share the skills and attributes young women tell us they want to see in the "ideal" professional, in order to engage, include, support and safeguard them.

Delegates will be encouraged to participate in large and small group discussions and exercises. They would be grateful if all attendees are present for the full 3-hour session and are able to switch on their camera and microphone when needed.
