Training and networking opportunity for volunteers - Mental Health
Wednesday 21 September 2022
18:00 to 19:30
Do you volunteer for a local charity or community group, and want to develop your skills and network to support the wellbeing of service users?
If so, you’re warmly invited to Croydon Citizens’ information evening on Be Well hubs, hosted by Bishop Rosemarie Mallett.
We are facing a mental health crisis in the UK, and particularly in Croydon. People are feeling isolated and unsure where to turn for help.
Be Well hubs are an innovative new solution to this problem. The mission is to train and equip community organisations to organise regular listening spaces and join a wider network for signposting, supervision, and support.
All this is built around Mental Health Champions: members of your institution who receive training on mental health awareness and community organising skills - all fully-funded by the NHS.
Join this event to:
• Find out how to join this network of more than 50 Be Well hubs in south London
• Network with other community leaders and organisations interested in mental health
• And learn about Croydon Citizens' ongoing work to improve mental health provision from GPs
The event will take place 6-7.30pm at LSBU Croydon Campus, 3 Wellesley Road, CR0 2NW, on Wednesday 21 September. RSVP here:
