The Girl Child Empowerment Conference

Friday 10 November 2023
10:00 to 12:00

The Girl Child Empowerment Conference will bring practitioners and young people together to discuss and address the rising violence issues amongst the girl child.

The untimely death of Sarah Everard in 2021 sparked a nationwide movement highlighting the cause of violence against young women and girls. Unfortunately, this issue has long been even before Sarah's death and continues to occur.

Music Relief Foundation, a community charity supporting young people and their families from within the grassroots communities, is hosting a conference on Friday, 10th November 2023. 10 am - 12 pm.

This conference will highlight the issue of violence against young women and girls but also look at the roles of girls involved in criminal exploitation, rising violence between girls, county lines, human trafficking, recruitment of girls to be lured into criminal activities and raped, sexual exploitation and many more.

The conference is powered by BASNET - The UK BME Antislavery Network. A network dedicated to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in the Anti-Slavery space.

Attendees for this conference are social workers, probation officers, schools, community workers, researchers, legal practitioners, gang unit officers, the MET Police, parents, etc.
