LGBT History Month Flag Raising (Croydon Council)

LGBT History Month is an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. It was founded in 1994 by Missouri high-school history teacher Rodney Wilson. In the United Kingdom it is celebrated in February each year, to coincide with the 2003 abolition of Section 28. LGBT+ History Month was initiated in the UK by Schools Out UK and first took place in February 2005.

 The Worshipful, The Civic Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Kola Agboola will mark LGBT History Month by raising the flag at the main flagpole outside Croydon Town Hall, Katharine Street, Croydon, CR0 1NX on Monday 3 February 2025 at 10am, you are very welcome to attend.
