Mothers Collude with Sexual Abuse by Fathers – Sexual Violence: Causes, Consequences, and Interventions.

Wednesday 11 March 2026
11:00 to 12:00

In recognition of International Women’s Day, Croydon Council is hosting two free workshops titled:

Mothers Collude with Sexual Abuse by Fathers – Sexual Violence: Causes, Consequences, and Interventions.
The Holy Hush: Breaking the Silence Around Domestic Abuse in the Church.

The first session taking place on Wednesday 11th March at 11-12pm will be led by Donna Murray-Turner from Another Night of Sisterhood. This intersectional academic workshop explores sexual violence, its impacts, and effective interventions through the lens of the Black Caribbean female experience.

The workshop is open to all, but will be particularly valuable for professionals working in Education, Social Care, and Youth Justice. It will support participants in developing deeper awareness and understanding of this complex issue, recognising how victims may present in professional settings, and identifying appropriate intervention and signposting pathways.
