Understanding Autism (Integrated Care Support Services)

This course provides a clear introduction to autism for anyone who wants to build their understanding and confidence when supporting autistic individuals. It is ideal for parents, carers, support workers, education staff, or anyone with a general interest in learning more.
This course runs from 14th May - 11th June - all sessions need to be attended.

Eligibility criteria:
- You are aged 19 +
- You live in a London/Greater London borough
- You are not in full time education
- You have not achieved this qualification before
- Have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning
What you’ll learn
- Introduction to autism and key terminology
- Communication and social interaction differences
- How autistic people may experience the world
- Approaches and strategies to support individuals
- You’ll explore what autism is, how autistic people may experience the world, and practical approaches to support individuals effectively. This is a non-accredited course however it can be an excellent foundation for the Level 3 qualification.
