How the system works. Searching for roles

Start your journey to volunteering in 6 simple steps:

Step 1 - Search

Search Volunteer Roles

Step 2 - Select

Select what you are interested in doing:

  • Areas list the types of organisations that you can volunteer for e.g. Animals – Cats protection, Children – Children’s Centre’s
  • Activities list the types of volunteering roles that you could do.
  • Advanced Search use if you want to be more specific on days or need to know about disabled access etc.

Step 3 - Register

Found a role you are interested in!

Confirm an interest – the system allows you to send a message to the organisation.

Use this as an opportunity to tell them why you are interested in volunteering with them, what skills you may have and what information you would need in order to progress your volunteering journey

You will then be asked to register your details.

Important: Ensure that you complete your personal profile as incomplete profiles will not be accepted.

Step 4 - Search and send

Once registered you will be able to search for more opportunities, however, please note that we only send your details to the organisation recruiting once you are an approved volunteer (this means that you must complete your personal profile) Read our privacy notice

  • Please select a maximum of 3 roles
  • For roles that you are interested in, send a message to the organisations

Step 5 - Review

We will forward your details (including your message) to the organisation advertising the roles and ask them to contact you within 10 working days.

If you do not hear from the organisation please let us know and we will investigate further.

You will be able to review the details of the roles that you have confirmed an interest in and also see the contact details of the organisation by logging in and going to Your Volunteering Roles (this can be found at the top of the page).
