Arshahn - Administrator Volunteer

Arshahn

Volunteer Administrator at Volunteer Centre Croydon

Our Administrator volunteers are key to keeping our information up to date. The Volunteers are our information seekers, they talk to not-for-profit organisations across Croydon and ensure that we support them by promoting their Volunteering roles as well as services/activities on Simply Connect Croydon.

One such volunteer is Arshahn who has been volunteering with us for just 2 months. Here's his story!

Arshahn's Story

When did it start:

I wanted to improve my experience as an admin, and also contribute to helping the community

How Volunteering has impacted my life:

Volunteering has opened my eyes to the variety of volunteer opportunities that are happening in Croydon, and how it helps to improve the community through different routes, such as mentoring the youth, fundraising, or helping the homeless.

I was responsible for connecting the volunteers to the volunteer group, as well as help promote the opportunities for the community to take part in. It was a really great time working at CVA as it gave me a sense of purpose and allowed me to contribute to Croydon in my own way.

Due to now working full time, I am not able to volunteer at my usual role, but I hope to volunteer in a different role at a time that works for me. I encourage others to try and volunteer when they can as it does have a positive impact on your life.

When we asked Arshahn to describe her volunteering experience in 3 statements she said:

Volunteering gave me a sense of purpose

Volunteering can be hard work at times but I enjoyed it.

Volunteering has enabled me to get a job
