Volunteer Centre Croydon sees a positive advantage in the involvement of volunteers.
The main purpose is to be part of a large pool of volunteers in Croydon who are on standby to help out both at times of great opportunity and at times of crisis. Opportunities will come in the form of VIP visits, cultural festivals, or similar events and celebrations that give us a chance to showcase all the good things happening in the borough.
Types of events that you might be asked to help with:
· Festivals
· Carnivals
· Cultural events
· Street Collection/Fundraising
· Black History Month/Armed Forces Day
· Sports Event/Fun Day
· Awards ceremonies
· Youth Activities
· Response to emergencies
· Vaccination stewards
· Charity AGM’s
Requirements of the volunteer
1. Pleasant outgoing manner
2. Ability to work as part of a team.
3. Aspire to attend at least 5 volunteering events per year.
4. Committed to attending Training and team meetings
5. Committed to working in accordance with the CVA’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
6. If your availability changes and you cannot attend an event the Volunteer Centre should be informed
