Croydon Green Network

In the Summer of 2021 a number of environmental groups in Croydon came together with the aim of increasing communication and collaboration between them.  This led to the formation of an informal network called the Croydon Green Network, which meets regularly to share, discuss, plan and take action on sustainability issues.

The Croydon Green Network would like to connect with other Croydon-based groups and organisations that have an interest in the environment, sustainability and social justice.  Contact us at: croydongreennetwork@protonmail.com

This is an independent network, run by Croydon groups and supported by CVA. It was initiated by the following groups:

  • CROYDON CLIMATE ACTION: We started in 2019, and span the whole of our wonderful borough! Our main focus is to lobby local politicians and the council to take action on the climate crisis, through organising hustings, meeting with decision makers and hosting events. We are always looking to grow our group, both from a coordinating point of view and also members to support our work. We currently meet online, 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:30pm (no meeting in August due to summer holidays). Contact us at croydonclimateaction@gmail.com
  • CROYDON EXTINCTION REBELLION: A decentralised, international and politically non-partisan movement using non-violent direct action and civil disobedience to persuade governments to act justly on the Climate and Ecological Emergency. Their demands are - Tell the truth - Act Now -Beyond Politics. Meeting online at present but soon in person again, most likely in the pavilion in Park Hill Park in central Croydon. Frequency depends on upcoming events/protests but roughly once a month. Contact croydonxr@gmail.com (or Grace at blath8@googlemail.com)
  • CROYDON GREENPEACE: We are a few ordinary people who care about our environment.

We meet on the first TUESDAY of the month, usually at the Oval Tavern, Oval Road, Central Croydon at 7.30pm but check for venue on Events each month in case of change. We just get together over a beer and work out what we can do as part of current Greenpeace campaigns. It's all pretty low level petitions and stuff but we are making a difference one day at a time. Because there is no Planet B! Contact us at croydongreenpeace@gmail.com

  • SUSTAINABLE THORNTON HEATH COMMUNITY GROUP: We’re a growing group of local residents who are concerned about climate change and our environment and are taking action to live more sustainably ourselves as well as helping make the area in which we live more sustainable. Come and say hello and see what we’re about by joining one of our regular meetings – we advertise Eventbrite links to free tickets for these on our website and social media.
