We offer our job seekers free, confidential advice and training helping those experiencing challenging and stressful situations, including: Housing and, or financial issues, caring responsibilities, previous convictions.
Eligibility: Croydon Residents are eligible if they fall into one of the following categories:
People with a disability or health condition. Early Access Disadvantaged Groups: carers; ex-carers; homeless; former Armed Forces or member of Armed Forces Reserves; partner of current/former Armed Forces personnel; person with a drug/alcohol dependency; care leavers; refugees; young people in gangs; ex-offenders; and victims of domestic violence.
Referral: You can ask Jobcentre Plus to refer someone to Better Working Futures for employment support.

We will help people with completing online forms, creating accounts, accessing the council, NHS, DWP and the cost of living. We will help you get everything ready for an application, teach the client how submit relevant documents and be more independent.
  • We are not an Information and Advice service and cannot help with appeals, immigration matters, consumer rights or legal issues.
  • We work closely with other organisations, and can signpost or refer to more appropriate services, who can better meet their needs. 
The services, forms and apps we help with include
Welfare Benefits: Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, Pension Credits, PIP and Disability Living Allowance, State Pension, Universal Credit/DWP. ​
​Council Benefits: Council Tax Reductions, Discretionary Housing Payment, Household Support Funds, Housing Benefit​.

The Healthy Start Scheme is worth over £1000 per child if claimed from pregnancy. Many Croydon residents are eligible, but are not claiming this benefit. *No support by phone for NRPF applications.
